Trent Boutz Banjo and Bass Vocals

Trent Boutz has been called everything from "the loudest banjo player you've ever heard" to "the walking banjo player" for his escapades at the North Carolina bluegrass festival circuit. He lives up to everything anybody says about him with his hard-driving, play till you pass out ("come on, play one more!"), traditional bluegrass banjo style.

It's says a lot about Trent that he plays a Stelling Master's Cross banjo even though he owns one of those coveted old Gibsons. The Gibsons just don't have that unmistakable punch and aggressiveness that Trent has defined as his own personal style on the banjo. Trent grew up in the mountains of Tennessee and he learned to play the banjo under the training of Clyde and Brian Blaylock at the famous Blaylock's Music in Chattanooga. In fact, the Master's Cross Trent plays today still bears the name of Brian Blaylock on the headstock.

Trent is as at home hunting and fishing in the woods around his home in Creedmoor, as he is playing bluegrass. We're pretty sure that if he ever got a job that allowed him to stay in the woods all day, we'd probably never see him again. It hasn't happened so far, and we're sure glad 'cause he's one of the best banjo players in the area and we're sure to gather a crowd and make a scene whenever he's around!
